It’s about your hair…but it’s not just about your hair.

Sitting in a stylist’s chair is about more than just getting your hair done. It’s about how you want to show up in the world and the woman you are on the inside. And that woman is the one I want to get to know and be friends with. My advanced training has given me a passion for creating and sculpting hairstyles that best suit you. I want you to feel relaxed and have fun as we jump into your hair journey together.

Hi, I’m Kara.

I knew I wanted to be a stylist from a young age, and it’s been such a journey these past 11 years getting licensed, being mentored, discovering my passion for blonde and doing extensions, and helping women who struggle with hair loss or thinning hair. Doing hair is more than just a job for me, it’s a ministry. My way to be of service, connect with women on a deep level and honor the Lord with the skills I have been given.

My Journey

  • Starting early

At 16 I knew I wanted to do hair and decided to get my license while still in high school. In April 2009 I was fully licensed and graduated a couple of months later.

  • Building my skills

It was important to me that I work at a high-end salon right away so I could get my career off to the best start and learn from the best. I made a connection at Salon Goddess in Moses Lake, worked there for 1.5 years alongside some really skilled stylists. I learned so much during that time.

  • A time for growth

The time came to spread my wings so I moved to Spokane, WA in October 2010. It was harder to find a place to land there without any connections so I bounced around a bit at first. Then I found my place in a small, quaint, intimate salon Downtown. I stayed there for 5 years. My boss there and coworkers were influential in the growth of my skills and knowledge. Great education was always readily available in Spokane.

  • Sharing my knowledge

In 2014 I married my high-school sweetheart and the next year he moved us back to Moses Lake. I found a spot to call home at Eden Salon early 2016 and I feel like the last few years there have helped shape the stylist I am today. And over the years I’ve transitioned from mentee to mentor, sharing my knowledge and skills with the next generation of stylists coming up under me.

  • A Blooming Future

In April 2020 I made a big move and joined my dear friend and fellow stylist, Charlotte over at Bloom Salon Collective in Moses Lake. My Bloom home is a joy and I love all the women I get to connect with in this space.

Your hair journey is a collaboration

I’m a Kevin Murphy Certified color specialist with over 14 years in the industry. I specialize in women’s hair cuts, color correction and making blonde hair dreams come true, and using Halo extensions to help those with thinning hair or hair loss.

My process always begins with a consultation so I can get to know you, your routine and daily life, and how your hair fits in. I want to know for sure that the style you walk out with is one you feel empowered to maintain and live with. I’ll give you styling tips, product suggestions, and listen to your concerns. It’s all about communication and helping you realize your hair dreams.

It’s my promise to you that I will always use the best products, always keep learning new techniques and developing my skill set, and always do what’s best for your hair.

And the best part? While you’re in my chair you’ve got my undivided attention… spill the beans on what you’re struggling with or worried about. Or we can chat about the TV shows you’re watching and your plans for girl’s weekend soon. I’m here for it.

This is your safe space, and I know we’ll be friends. You’re allowed to show up here just as you are. You are totally welcome here.

What I’m known for
